A World Cup game for Betfair

The brief

Originally briefed with coming up with ideas for a World Cup infographic for Betfair, myself and the team brainstormed ideas to pitch to the client. Quite a few of the ideas moved away from the brief and Finding Neymar (a game loosely based on Where's Wally) was the one that the client liked and wanted to run with.

The outcome

One of the most creative content marketing peices I have produced. Additional it did very well on all key metrics and was on the first page of Buzz Feed.

Exploring ideas

During the define stage of the project I produced a userflow diagram and a storyboard. As a team we also started working on generating ideas / mapping out the scene and creating some styles of illustration to get early client feedback.

Changes after testing

Working on the assumption that moving around the scene was very similar to Google Maps and the edge was clearly clipped everyone should get how to use it. The relatily was some people had problems and to solve this we made the following changes to the UI:

Final designs

We ended up with a fun and interactive game designed to capture new subscribers in time for the biggest sporting event in the world.
